We are a U.S.-based outsourced accounting and CFO advisory firm specializing in consumer packaged goods (CPG) brands. Our team operates as the embedded finance department for a portfolio of high-growth companies across food, beverage, and consumer product categories.

Rather than working within a single organization, our finance professionals support multiple emerging brands, providing exposure to a wide range of operational models, sales channels, and growth stages. Our work spans everything from day-to-day accounting operations to financial reporting, inventory accounting, and strategic financial support.

The Role

We are seeking an Accounting Manager with strong experience supporting U.S.-based CPG businesses to take ownership of the accounting function across a portfolio of client brands.

This is a high-ownership role responsible for managing full-cycle accounting operations, financial reporting, and distributor accounting complexities common within the CPG industry.

The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a multi-client environment, understands the operational realities of CPG businesses, and can operate independently while maintaining strong communication with both internal leadership and client teams.

You will work closely with the firm's Head of Accounting and U.S.-based client contacts, serving as a trusted financial operator across multiple brands.

Key Responsibilities

Client Accounting Ownership

• Own the full-cycle accounting function for multiple CPG client accounts
• Manage general ledger integrity and ensure accurate financial reporting
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements and close packages
• Maintain organized workpapers and documentation in an audit-ready format

Month-End Close & Financial Reporting

• Lead and execute month-end close processes
• Perform account reconciliations and financial analysis
• Identify discrepancies and resolve accounting issues proactively
• Ensure accurate accruals and adherence to U.S. GAAP

Revenue & Channel Accounting

• Record and reconcile revenue across multiple sales channels, including:
• Direct-to-consumer (DTC)
• Wholesale
• Distributor relationships
• Maintain accurate revenue recognition practices across omnichannel operations

Distributor & Trade Deduction Accounting

• Process and reconcile distributor transactions, including:
• Promotional allowances
• Chargebacks
• Trade deductions
• Manage deduction reconciliation for major distributors such as:
• KeHe
• UNFI
• Work with EDI integrations and distributor data feeds

Inventory Accounting

• Maintain accurate inventory accounting in coordination with client teams
• Support inventory reconciliation and COGS analysis
• Work within inventory platforms such as Cin7 and similar systems

Operational Accounting

• Oversee day-to-day accounting processes including:
• Accounts payable
• Bill payment workflows
• Accounts receivable tracking
• Cash management and reconciliations
• Manage AP workflows through Bill.com

Client Communication & Support

• Serve as the primary accounting contact for assigned client accounts
• Communicate clearly with client leadership regarding financial performance and operational issues
• Coordinate with U.S.-based accounting leadership on escalations and strategic matters

Team Collaboration

• Support and occasionally oversee junior accounting staff
• Maintain strong documentation and process discipline across client workstreams
• Help ensure accounting workflows remain efficient and scalable

Required Qualifications

Experience

• 4+ years of accounting experience , preferably with exposure to CPG, food & beverage, or consumer products
• Experience working with U.S.-based companies and U.S. GAAP
• Background in:
• CPG brands
• Accounting advisory firms
• Outsourced accounting firms
• Consumer product companies

Industry Knowledge

Strong understanding of how CPG businesses operate across:

• Wholesale
• Retail distribution
• Direct-to-consumer sales

Experience navigating:

• Distributor relationships
• Trade deductions
• Promotional accounting
• Chargeback reconciliation

Technical Skills

Required:

• QuickBooks Online
• Bill.com
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP
• Accrual-basis accounting

Preferred experience with:

• Cin7
• Confido
• SPS Commerce
• Distributor EDI systems
