Position: Japanese Bilingual Accounting ManagerLocation: Torrance, CAWork Hours: 9:00am - 6:00pmFSLA Status: Exempt, Full-Time, Direct Hire OVERVIEW:Our client, a well-established global company, is seeking a full-time Japanese Bilingual Accounting Manager.This role focuses on managing day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring that accounting functions are performed accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner. The position is hands-on and requires someone who can take ownership of accounting processes, maintain accuracy, and support operational excellence.The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on accounting experience, including experience with US GAAP and an understanding of IFRS requirements for the company’s consolidated financial reporting. The company is also open to candidates with Assistant Manager or Senior Supervisor-level experience who are ready to take the next step into an Accounting Manager role. High-level Accounting Manager experience is not required.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee daily accounting operations and ensure accurate and timely completion of accounting activities.Coordinate with outsourced accounting service providers responsible for front-end accounting functions.Manage and monitor accounting processes to ensure smooth and efficient operations.Review accounting transactions, reconciliations, and financial records for accuracy.Manage month-end and year-end closing activities.Prepare and submit financial reporting packages and necessary accounting information to the Japanese headquarters for consolidated financial reporting.Support the Japanese headquarters’ IFRS-based consolidation process by providing necessary adjustments, reconciliations, and reporting in accordance with group accounting policies.Coordinate with the Japanese headquarters regarding accounting matters, reporting requirements, and financial inquiries.Maintain proper accounting procedures, documentation, and internal controls.Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial stakeholders during audits and tax filings.Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiency.Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support overall business operations.Qualifications5+ years of hands-on accounting experience.Japanese/English bilingual proficiency is required.Hands-on experience managing accounting operations under US GAAPStrong understanding of and experience with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.Experience with ERP systems and financial accounting software.Strong Excel skills (intermediate to advanced), including financial analysis and reporting functions.Strong computer skills and IT literacy, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new accounting systems and business software.Positive, collaborative, and team-oriented personality with strong communication and interpersonal skills.BENEFITS: Medical/Dental/Vision/Life (100% paid by company)Paid VacationPaid holidaysPaid Sick Leave401K The base pay range listed reflects what we reasonably expect to offer for this role.
