Linguist IIIOnsite is Redmond, WA or Burlingame, CA12 MonthsSummary We are looking for a Linguist to help us develop language components for a variety of voice-enabled technologies and products. We are seeking candidates with strong linguistic data analysis and language technology experience to manage data collection, LLM-powered data synthesis and data annotation tasks, prompt engineering, rule-based classifier encoding, and quality evaluations.Job ResponsibilitiesProvide linguistic expertise while delivering data for large language modelsCollaborate with other linguists and data operations teams in data collection,data curation, and annotation effortsEvaluate and curate data sets for ML models using LLM solutionsAssess model performance and data qualityPrompt engineeringCreate guidelines in support of labeling projects that enable annotators to consistently label language data at qualityCollaboratively develop complex and consistent linguistic analysesRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in general Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, or related fieldExperience with regular expression encodingKnowledge of syntax, semantics, pragmatics, sociolinguistics, corpuslinguistics, and other areas of linguisticsProficiency in PythonExperience with database queries and data analysis processes (i.e. SQL,spreadsheets)Experience working with speech and text dataFamiliar with Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering and their applicationsComfortable working in a fast paced, highly collaborative, dynamic workenvironmentStrong organizational skills and detail orientedExcellent communication skills both verbal and writtenPreferred QualificationsMaster’s or PhD in Linguistics, language technologies, computational linguistics, or related fieldExperience with machine learning frameworks, NLP Libraries and Tools2-3 Years of experience working in a Linguist role, Conversational assistant, ML Support, LLMsYears of Experience 4-5+ YearsMust-Have Skills

1. Proficiency/Familiarity in Python and Experience with database queries and data analysis processes (i.e. SQL, spreadsheets)
2. Experience with regular expression encoding
3. Familiar with Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering and their applicationsNice-to-Have Skills

1. Experience with machine learning frameworks, NLP Libraries and Tools
2. 2-3 Years of experience working in a Linguist role
3.
